Cultural exchanges with foreign schools

Not only Europe: Plainville High School (USA), Sydney (Australia)

The foreign language programme aims at offering our students a direct confrontation with foreign cultures, and it includes the opportunity to experience a cultural exchange with students from foreign high schools. Through this first-hand experience it is possible for our students to meet foreign students, their families and their schools.

Cultural exchanges have all ready taken place with two French schools:
- Marcelin Barthélot School of the borough of Pantin (twinned with Scandicci);
- Suger St.Denis School of the city of Paris;

THE “NOT ONLY EUROPE” PROJECT ; - School year 2005-2006:

The cultural exchange project, which usually involves the classes of the “Communication and Marketing” accountancy course, as well as the classes of the “Foreign language” scientific high school course, has broadened its contacts this year to include American and Australian partner schools.

- The 4C “Foreign language” scientific high school class went on an exchange visit to Plainville High School in New York State in October 2005 for two weeks. The class are offering hospitality to their American counterparts for two weeks in February 2006.

-The 3B and 4B “Communication and Marketing” accountancy classes went on an exchange visit to Sydney Grammar School in Sydney, Australia for two weeks in September, 2005. The classes offered hospitality to their Australian counterparts for two weeks in December 2005.
